1. Who we are
Moon Coin Productions Inc. produces and presents live touring theatre productions. We are responsible for the personal information collected through this website.

We are based in Canada and most of our audiences are too, so this policy is written to meet Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA). We also apply the stricter European standard (the GDPR) to everyone who visits the site, rather than treating visitors differently depending on where they are.
2. Booking enquiries
When you send a booking enquiry through the website, the form asks for your name, email address, phone number, the organisation you represent, the type of event, its location and date, a budget range, and any other details you choose to add.
We use this only to respond to your enquiry and to discuss the booking. We do not use it for marketing, and we do not share it with anyone outside Moon Coin Productions.
Your enquiry is emailed to us, not stored on the website. The form sends it to us by email and does not save it on the website. Once it has been sent, the only copy is the one in our email account.
Your IP address is used only to stop the form being abused. To stop anyone flooding us with automated submissions, the website counts how many enquiries have come from your internet connection in the past hour. Your address is not kept in readable form. What is stored is a scrambled reference and a number, and both are discarded an hour later. They are not attached to your enquiry, never reach our email, and are not used for anything else.
3. Mailing list
If you sign up for our mailing list, you give us your email address. We use it to send news about upcoming shows and tour dates, and for nothing else. You can unsubscribe from any message we send.
Our mailing list is run by Zoho Campaigns, so your address is stored on Zoho’s systems as well as being visible to us. Zoho holds our list in its Canadian data centre.
The sign-up form is provided by Zoho and does not load at all unless you accept marketing cookies. If you decline, a short notice appears in place of the form and the website does not contact Zoho. Zoho receives nothing about you unless you accept and then submit the form.
4. Website statistics
We use Jetpack Stats and Google Analytics to see how many people visit the site and which pages they read. We use this to decide what to put on the website. We look at visits as a whole, not at individual visitors. The Google Analytics account is owned by Moon Coin Productions.
Statistics are collected only if you accept them on the cookie banner. If you decline, nothing is recorded.
5. Companies that handle data for us
Running a website means other companies necessarily handle some information for us. Below is the complete list, grouped by when it happens, with what each company receives.
Always, on every visit
- Automattic (WordPress.com) hosts the website.
Receives: everything that passes through the site, including your IP address. - Automattic serves our photographs from its image network.
Receives: your IP address, when a page with images loads. - Automattic (VideoPress) serves the video on our home page.
Receives: your IP address, when the home page loads. - Automattic (Bilmur) measures how quickly our pages load.
Receives: your IP address, and timings for the page you are viewing.
Only after you accept cookies
- Automattic (Jetpack Stats) collects visitor statistics.
Receives: pages viewed, and your IP address. - Google (Google Analytics) collects visitor statistics.
Receives: pages viewed, your browser and device type, and your IP address. - Zoho (Zoho Campaigns) runs the mailing list.
Receives: your email address, and only if you sign up.
Only when you filter events by city
OpenStreetMap finds a city on the map for the events filter. It receives the city name only, never anything about you. Our own server asks OpenStreetMap where the city is, and your browser never contacts it, so it gets no IP address, no cookie and nothing that identifies you. It is listed here for completeness.
Automattic and Google may process this information outside Canada, including in the United States.
6. How long we keep things
Booking enquiries stay in our email archive with no fixed deletion date, so that we can handle a later booking from the same organisation. You can ask us to delete yours at any time, using the contact details in section 9.
Mailing list. When you unsubscribe, your email address is removed from our mailing list right away.
Website statistics are kept as totals and are not tied to you as an individual.
7. Cookies
The first time you visit, the website asks whether you accept cookies. Until you accept, no company outside our website host receives anything that identifies you. That covers the mailing list form and our visitor statistics.
Our host, Automattic, necessarily handles every request to the site: it runs the servers, serves our photographs and video, and measures how quickly pages load. Section 5 sets out exactly what that involves. None of it is used to advertise to you or to build a profile of you, and none of it is shared with anyone else.
You can change your mind at any time with the Cookie Settings link at the bottom of every page. Our Cookie Policy, also linked at the bottom of every page, lists every cookie the site uses and what each one does.
8. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete what we hold, unless we are required to keep it;
- send you a copy of it;
- stop using it, which includes withdrawing any consent you have given.
Write to us using the details in section 9 and we will respond within 30 days. There is no charge.
If you are unhappy with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you can complain to your own national data protection authority instead.

10. Changes to this policy
We update this policy whenever the website changes what it does with information, for example if we add a new service that handles your data. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
